COUNSELLING IN BRIGHTON AND HOVE

Feeling stuck, lost or unsure what to do next

Counselling for Feeling Stuck or Unsure What to Do Next in Brighton

At times, it can feel like you have lost your direction or are unsure how to move forward. You might feel stuck in the same patterns, going over the same thoughts without clarity, or unsure what the next step should be. If this is getting in the way of your life, counselling can offer a space to talk things through and begin to make sense of what’s going on.

I offer counselling in Brighton & Hove, providing a calm, non-judgemental space where you can explore your experience at your own pace, with someone who will listen carefully.

Alongside in-person sessions at my Brighton practice, I also offer online counselling, so support is available wherever you are.

If you’d like to find out more or arrange a free 15-minute introductory call, you’re welcome to get in touch by phone or WhatsApp on 07410 040348, via the contact form below or by email at johncreigancounselling@gmail.com.

What Does Feeling Stuck or Lost Feel Like?

Feeling stuck or unsure what to do next can show up in different ways. Sometimes it feels clear — like you’ve reached a point where nothing seems to move forward. Other times, it’s less obvious, more of a sense that something isn’t quite right, even if you can’t put your finger on why.

For some people, it feels like going round in circles, revisiting the same thoughts without getting any closer to an answer. For others, it can feel like a loss of direction, as though you’re no longer sure what matters or what you want. There can also be a sense of disconnection — from yourself, from others or from the life you’re living.

You might notice yourself hesitating over decisions, putting things off or feeling unsure how to take the next step. Over time, this can become frustrating or exhausting, especially when it feels like nothing is changing.

If any of this feels familiar, you’re not alone. And you don’t have to work through it on your own either.

How Counselling Can Help When You Feel Stuck

I offer counselling in Brighton, working in a way that is collaborative and responsive to you. There are no quick fixes or set approaches. Instead, counselling offers a space to slow things down, talk things through and begin to understand what is happening for you.

Feeling stuck can sometimes feel like part of who you are, or something that won’t change. But together, we can begin to look beneath the surface — at the thoughts, feelings and experiences that may be keeping things as they are. As this becomes clearer, it can open up new ways of responding, rather than feeling caught in the same place.

Counselling can help you:

Make sense of what feels unclear or difficult to put into words

Notice patterns that may be keeping you feeling stuck

Explore what matters to you and what you want moving forward

Feel more able to make decisions and take steps that feel right

There isn’t a single way this process needs to look. This is about your experience — whether you’re looking for clarity, direction or simply somewhere you don’t have to have the answers.

In-Person Counselling in Brighton & Online Sessions

I offer counselling in Brighton & Hove, as well as online counselling, so you can choose what works best for you. In-person sessions provide a space away from everyday life where you can reflect more freely. Online sessions can be helpful if you feel more comfortable in familiar surroundings, or if you’re based elsewhere in the UK.

Wherever you are, the aim is the same — a calm, supportive space where you can talk things through and make sense of what’s going on.

Taking the First Step

If you’re feeling stuck or unsure what to do next and would like to talk, you’re welcome to get in touch. You don’t need to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say — we can begin with whatever feels most present for you.

Whether you’re in Brighton, Hove or elsewhere, you’re welcome to arrange an initial session or a free 15-minute call to find out more.
