Humanistic Counselling in Brighton & Hove
I’m John, a humanistic counsellor based in Brighton & Hove. I offer a warm, supportive space where you can speak freely and be met with honesty, curiosity and care. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck or uncertain about yourself or your direction, counselling can help you make sense of what’s happening and find a steadier way forward.
I’ve worked with adults facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, grief, stress, low self-esteem and relationship difficulties. Many people begin therapy unsure of what they need. Together we explore what might be holding them back and what could help them move toward a more grounded and fulfilling life.
How I Work
My approach is centred on you. Your pace, your experiences, your story. I don’t offer advice or quick fixes. Instead, we work collaboratively to bring awareness to the patterns and feelings that shape your life. Over time, this process can help you understand yourself more deeply and develop new ways of responding to life’s challenges.
Whether we meet in person or online, I aim to create a confidential, safe and genuine environment where you feel heard, accepted and understood.
Getting Started
Beginning counselling can feel like a big step, and that’s perfectly normal. You don’t need to have everything worked out before reaching out. If you’d like to talk about how we might work together, I offer a free 15-minute introductory call.
